A World Full Of Movies!

My holiday started on the last day of school, though I wouldn’t call it a holiday yet, everybody was rushing around.

Mum and Dads wedding on the 8th of October was better than I ever thought it could be, fairy lights hanging from the roof, family that I hadn’t seen in ages, Southwards looked new.

A couple of days later it was time to go to the Gold Coast where Mum, Dad, Janey and I could relax out and have some  family time together.

On day three of our holiday we went to MOVIE WORLD, where we first went on the Scooby- Doo ride. I wouldn’t say it was scary, but it sure was exciting!

Next we went on the log boats which gave us a fright, Janey and I just thought we go up the ramp into the volcano and down the slide BUT NO…. we go up the ramp, down a drop backwards, through rapids, into desolated towns, up the volcano again and down the Steep slide. Did I mention we got soaked head to toe.

After we had dried off we went on the bat man rides, road runner, leathle weapon, watched a 4D movie and went on the Scooby Doo ride again.

After a tiring but adrenalin pumping experience at movie world we had to go back to our apartment ARTIQUE and get ready for going out to tea.

I thought I did pretty well considering I was a kind of sick but I really enjoyed it and I think, actually I know that my family loved as much as I did!

Show Not Tell – Inference Writing

The accommodation was slowly sinking further into the ground, nearly worn out, needing a lot of attention!!!!

This week our class have been doing inference writing, show not tell. So we show the people the story not tell them!

Today we did inference writing feelings here is an example:

The told version:

I entered the dressing room without looking at the door sign.                        ( embarrassment)

The showed version:

I felt my face go beetroot red as I rushed out the door screaming sorry.

GO NZ YOU CAN DO IT!!!

My NZ pride I will not hide

My NZ race I will not disgrace

My NZ blood flows hot and true

My NZ peeps I will stand with you

Through thick and thin till the day we die

Our NZ flags always stand so high

I yell this poem louder than the rest

Because everyone knows

NZ IS THE BEST!!!

Snow drifting past my head

Lightly landing in my hair

Happiness twirling round and round

As i look everywhere there’s white on the ground

Hongoeka Marae

At Hongoeka Marae the highlights for me were the weaving and the boy’s haka thanks to Te Mako.

The weaving was interesting because instead of a adult or teacher teaching us it was my friends who had been before two years ago. They quickly taught me so i could help out, i thought i was useless at first but as soon as I got the hang of it was all goods.

As for the Boy’s haka it was amazing they actually went hard at it!!!! I was really impressed!!!

After the Boy’s haka I embarrssed myself really badly at leased everyone else thought it was funny, Mr E our Principal expected me (being maori) to be able to name the flower we made out of flax in maori of course I just said   A FLOWER !!!! then suddenly everyone started cracking up,so I decided I would laugh to!!! IMG_5965
